Other packages (portable, advanced)

Most people want the installer (button above). Portable ZIP is for USB/no-admin machines. MSIX/Store options appear when available.

Windows or Edge blocked the download?

Luphia is code-signed (publisher Vincent Ippolito). Microsoft SmartScreen still warns on new or uncommon apps until enough people install them.

  1. In Edge’s download bar, open the menu (…) → Keep → Show more → Keep anyway if prompted.
  2. When Windows says “Windows protected your PC”, click More info → Run anyway.

Prefer Installer or Portable from this site. MSIX and Microsoft Store appear when those packages are published for the latest release.

How it works

Three steps from hotkey to typed text — anywhere on your desktop.

Get started
1

Press the hotkey

Ctrl+Alt+Space on Windows, Control+Option+Space on Mac. Customize to push-to-talk, hands-free, or double-tap latch.

2

Speak naturally

xAI Grok runs speech-to-text, then formats with Refine or Prompt — and adapts to the app you’re in (chat vs email vs code).

3

Text lands at your cursor

Windows: auto-paste, type-at-cursor, or copy-only. Mac: paste with ⌘V. Works in Word, Slack, browsers, and more.

Try it live in your browser

Real microphone capture, real xAI Grok speech-to-text and cleanup — same hosted path as the desktop app. Pick a style, hold to speak, hover the pill for the edit diff. For Word, Slack, Cursor, and the rest of your desktop, download the app — this demo does not replace it.

Sign in, then hold to dictate

Uses your Luphia account quota and the hosted Grok pipeline (same as the desktop app). Mic stays in this browser tab only for the take.

Style

Same Google or X account as the Luphia app.

Hotkey: hold Ctrl+Alt+Space to dictate (same as the app). Hover the pill to expand styles / diff. Rail buttons always work: Done, Cancel, Copy.

The engine

  • Grok writing styles — Refine, Prompt, and Pro custom styles
  • Context-aware — chat, email, and code apps get the right register
  • Built with xAI — the model stack we’re proud to ship

FAQ

Quick answers about platforms, privacy, limits, and apps.

What AI model does Luphia use?

xAI Grok — specifically. Speech-to-text and cleanup both run on Grok models from xAI. That’s intentional: we chose Grok and we’re proud to ship it as the engine behind Luphia.

How do I try the open beta?

Download the Windows or Mac app, sign in with Google, and start dictating — no waitlist and no credit card for Free. Paid Pro is optional. Step-by-step with screenshots: Get started. Use it in your real workflow and email support@luphia.ai with what worked and what didn’t. There is also a live browser demo on this page if you want a preview first.

Which Windows versions are supported?

Luphia runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11 (x64). Use Download on this page to pick Installer, Portable, MSIX, or Microsoft Store when each package is published for the latest release.

Is there Mac, iPhone, or mobile support?

Mac is open beta (Apple Silicon and Intel). Download the notarized DMG from this page. Windows is code-signed; Mac is notarized. iPhone and broader mobile are not ready yet.

On Mac the shortcut is Control+Option+Space (not Command). Luphia pastes with ⌘V; it does not type-at-cursor the way Windows can. In-app updates stay off on Mac for now — grab the next build here.

Safari or Gatekeeper blocked the Mac app — is that safe?

Yes. Mac releases are notarized. Open the DMG, drag Luphia to Applications, then launch it from Applications. If macOS warns, choose Open anyway. Apple Silicon is the default download; Intel Macs need the Intel link. The arm64 app will not run on Intel.

Edge or Windows blocked the installer — is that safe?

Yes. Releases are code-signed by publisher Vincent Ippolito (Azure Trusted Signing). Microsoft SmartScreen still warns on apps that are new or haven’t been downloaded many times yet — that is reputation, not an unsigned or modified file.

In Edge: download menu → Keep → Keep anyway if asked. On the blue SmartScreen dialog: More info → Run anyway. Prefer the installer from this site; don’t disable SmartScreen system-wide.

Is my audio stored on your servers?

No. We do not keep transcripts or audio on our servers. History on your computer is encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The server only stores a daily “app opened” flag and word counts so we can enforce plan limits.

What happens when I hit the free word limit?

Free includes 2,000 words weekly. When you hit the limit, dictation pauses until the next week — or you can upgrade to Pro for unlimited words.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Sign in on this page and open Manage subscription to update payment details or cancel. If you cancel Pro, access continues until the end of your current billing period, then Free limits apply.

Does it work in Word, Slack, and VS Code?

Yes — any app that accepts keyboard input. On Windows you can auto-paste, type-at-cursor, or copy-only. On Mac, Luphia pastes with ⌘V (no type-at-cursor). With context awareness on, Refine also adapts tone and format (friendly chat in Slack, email body in Outlook, exact paths and symbols in VS Code or Cursor).

What are Refine and Prompt?

Refine turns speech into clear, paste-ready prose and enrolls which app you’re in — casual for chat, email-shaped for mail, technical for editors. Prompt (Pro) turns speech into a clean imperative instruction for AI coding assistants without inventing requirements. Free includes Refine; Pro adds Prompt and custom styles.

What is context awareness?

When enabled, Luphia can use the foreground app name and window title (and optional selection) to guide register and format — only for that request. It isn’t stored as history on our servers. You can turn it off or keep context on-device only in Privacy settings.

How do I contact support?

Email support@luphia.ai for product help, billing questions, or account issues. The same address is in the site footer and on the privacy contact page.
